Unable to Drag and Drop file from client to host after upgrade

Unable to Drag and Drop file from client to host after upgrading to GoToMyPC to recent versions: 8.5 or higher

  • GoToMyPC version 8.5 or higher
  • Windows

Procedure

Answer

Cause

After a recent update, Drag and Drop for individual files is not working correctly for Windows.

Resolution

Workaround 1:

  1. Use dual-pane file transfer

Workaround 2:
  1. Drag a folder as if you are going to transfer it (from client to host) but don't actually transfer
  2. Re-attempt to transfer the original file

Additional Information

This issue appeared after a Windows upgrade, and manifests in older builds as well. We are currently investigating this issue.
