I installed my host computer but it doesn't show up on my account

Issue

  • Install host computer.
  • After installation host computer is not available to connect to on my account, does not show up in the list of My Computers.

Procedure

Answer

Cause

Host was not registered after installation, or was already registered to an existing account.

Resolution

  1. Right click on MYPC icon in the system tray
  2. Click Register
  3. Enter email and password
  4. Click Next
  5. Create Nickname
  6. Create and confirm Access code
  7. Click Finish

Additional Information

If you do not see the option to Register the computer, it is likely already registered to another account. Right click on the MYPC icon and select 'About'. The email address listed in this window is related the account the computer is currently registered to. If you need to change this, you can do so by uninstalling the GoToMyPC software from your computer and reinstalling it.
